- Raise awareness of employer representatives about EU promoted mechanisms for information, consultation and participation in companies particularly works councils/EWC;
- Promote the above mechanisms to develop company-suited measures for a joint strategy in tackling the Coronavirus-triggered crisis, to find country/location-specific solutions but without discriminating based on that aspect, and to increase overall employer-worker cooperation;
- Promote achievements of works councils to date;
- Develop a framework for anti-crisis measure implementation based on key factors in the sector, driving forces in its macro-environment and plausible scenarios;
- Train participants in effective online collaboration, whose importance is highlighted by the pandemic, and recommended protocols for online works councils’ meetings;
- Inform participants on important considerations for social partners while conducting crisis negotiations;
- Instruct participants on cross-border restructuring process;
- Promote transnational partnership between representatives of social partners, representing employers and workers, based on mutual understanding of their best interests;
- Familiarize participants with an analysis of drivers of change in the metal sector;
- Familiarize participants with the concept of an agile approach to addressing crisis on the company level and in developing company level partnerships between stakeholders;
- Contribute to improved health of the European metal sector through developing long-term solutions;
- Promote inclusion of social actors from candidate countries to ensure their familiarity with EU laws and co-design pathways with EU member states to reinforce cohesion.
